Central Computer Lab

The Central Computer Lab of The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh (IUHP) is an essential part of the University’s academic and technological infrastructure. Designed to support teaching, learning, practical training, research, and digital activities, the laboratory provides students and faculty with access to modern computing facilities in a comfortable and technology-enabled environment.

The Central Computer Lab is equipped to support students in developing practical knowledge and hands-on skills relevant to their academic programmes. It provides an appropriate environment for computer-based learning, programming, software applications, academic projects, online learning, research, and other digital activities. The facility also enables students to complement classroom learning with practical exposure and encourages them to make effective use of information and communication technologies.

With its focus on accessibility and academic support, the Central Computer Lab contributes to creating a digitally enabled learning environment at IUHP. Students can utilise the facility for regular academic work, assignments, project development, presentations, research activities, and skill enhancement.

Accessible and Convenient Vertical Mobility

The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh provides modern lift facilities within its campus buildings to ensure convenient, safe, and accessible movement between different floors. The facility is an important component of the University's infrastructure and supports the smooth movement of students, faculty members, administrative staff, visitors, and other members of the University community.

The lift facility enables easy access to various academic and administrative areas located on different floors, including classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices, administrative offices, libraries, seminar halls, and other student-support facilities. It reduces the physical effort involved in moving between floors and provides greater convenience, particularly for individuals who may have difficulty using staircases.

About Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at strengthening the bond between higher educational institutions and rural India. The programme seeks to enable sustainable rural development through knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and active community participation.

The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh, joined UBA as a Participating Institute (PI) in 2025 and has since adopted five villages, working consistently towards socio-economic upliftment, capacity building, and sustainable development through participatory engagement.

Vision

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes, leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India and to drive a paradigm shift in the country's academic and research programs.

Mission

Develop the necessary mechanism and proper coordination among educational institutions, implementation agencies (District administration/ Panchayati Raj Institutions) and the grassroots level stakeholders to enable effective intervention at the field level.

Select suitable rural clusters and effectively participate in the holistic development of these clusters using eco-friendly sustainable technologies and local resources, creating sufficient employment opportunities in the process, harnessing multifarious government schemes, customised use of existing technologies and use of knowledge as per the local needs.

Reorienting the academic curricula and research programs in higher educational institutions to make them more responsive to the needs of the time and to bring in holistic development and enrich knowledge of students about issues of villages/ society.

As a Participating Institution (PI), the ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh is responsible for:

  • To identify/ select five villages in consultation with the district collectors for the activities under the UBA.
  • Institutions are expected to do field studies, study the implementation of government schemes, and facilitate their better implementation so that they meet their objectives.
  • To engage interested faculty members & students, NSS and other bodies of the institutes engaged in community development activities.
  • As a selected PI, we should work with the state government, district authorities/ PRIs / other institutions and non-governmental bodies, for arriving at suitable solutions for improving the social and economic well-being of the rural communities.

Since joining UBA in 2025, the University has:

  • Conducted structured surveys and need-based interventions
  • Involved students and faculty in field visits and rural immersion activities
  • Coordinated with local administrative bodies for effective implementation
