About Himachal Pradesh
- Baddi is an industrial town and a nagar panchayat in the Southwestern Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, a hill state of northern India. The town lies on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana states in the Shivalik Hills, around 35 kilometers west of Solan.
- Baddi in the Solon district of Himachal Pradesh is emerging as the pharmaceutical industry capital of India.

- To add to the list are some manufacturing giants like Timex, Tsu-Kam; world class financial institutions including Western Union Money Transfer, ICICI Bank, HDFC, SBI; and famous food chains like MG Regency, 4Seasons.
- The fortunes of Baddi began to change with the visit of the then Prime Minister to Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh during March 29 and 31, 2002, where he announced tax and central excise concessions to attract investments to special category states.
- Himachal Pradesh was established in 1948 as a Chief Commissioner's Province within the Republic of India. The province comprised the hill districts around Shimla and southern hill areas of the former Punjab region. Himachal became a part C state on 26 January 1950 with the implementation of the Constitution of India.
- Himachal Pradesh became a Union Territory on 1st November 1956. On 18th December 1970, the State of Himachal Pradesh Act was passed by Parliament and the new state came into being on 25th January 1971. Thus Himachal emerged as the eighteenth state of the Indian Union.

By Air
Chandigarh is the nearest Airport from Baddi (around 40 Km). Daily flights from Delhi to Chandigarh are available.
By Road
Baddi is well connected via road from Delhi, Chandigarh, Solan, Kalka, Nalagarh, Nahan, Shimla and other major cities of Himachal, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Frequent bus service is available from Chandigarh and Kalka to Baddi. Direct buses from Delhi to Baddi are also available from ISBT Kashmiri gate Delhi.
By Rail
Nearest Railway station from Baddi is Kalka (30km). Taxis and buses are available from Kalka to Baddi. Shatabdi Express and other trains connect Baddi to Delhi and other parts of the country.
Important Places to Visit
Shimla
The place derives its name from Goddess Shyamala, an incarnation of Kali. Shimla is a tranquil place and the only urbanized city of the Himachal. From noted hotel chains to luxury villas, capital city has many accommodation facilities. Tranquility and peaceful atmosphere makes it different from many urban cities in the country. There are number of temples, parks, and valleys to tour here apart from trekking trips.
Dharamshala
The backdrop is that of the Dhauladhar ranges having a height of around 4,000 meters. The refuge of his highness the Dalai Lama, it is an important place of the Buddhist followers. Kangra Valley is another place that you can visit along with Dharamshala. In Kangra Valley, there were 80 hill resorts constructed in the 17th century. Little Lhasa is the place that the world knows today as the residence of the Dalai Lama.
Kullu Valley
This valley is nothing different from Kashmir in charm and elegance. Temples, apple orchards, gardens, and the festivals make it a worthwhile place of visit. The handicraft textile in the region makes shawls, caps, and other woolen accessories. Dusshera is celebrated infull spirit at Kullu.
Manali
A place in Kullu Valley at the foothills of the Himalayas and cradled amidst the natural beauty. Just a few kilometers from Manali is the Rohtang pass. Rich in greenery in summers, the place has a complete different look when it is snowing. The snow covered peaks, chunk of the glaciers in the streams, and the dry trees all appeals to the tourist’s eyes.
Chamba
The ultimate attraction of the Shivalik range is the small hamlet of Chamba, famous for the temples of Shiva since several centuries. The architectural styles of these temples have great influence on the minds of the travelers. A seat of the erstwhile rulers of the state, Chamba is a historical site in Himachal.
