Globalization and Liberalization of the economy have brought in new perceptions. Diversified legal issues emanating from sociopolitical dynamics have also redefined the boundaries of legal education and many interdisciplinary approaches are required to address the emerging legal challenges, for instance connectivity of Intellectual Property Rights with Engineering. The direction of legal education is guided today by science, management, technology and economics to empower the traditional legal principles to address techno-legal issues and the new economic order, effectively. Todays’ legal professionals are required to have holistic approach.

Classroom_Instruction
Semester System

The University follows the semester pattern for all its programs. Each academic year consists of two semesters and a summer term. Internal evaluation, mid-semester and end-semester examinations (as decided from time to time) are conducted for each semester.

Elective and Honors Courses

The academic structure of the program provides students with an opportunity to choose electives and honors courses from across the courses offered by the University. The actual offering of the electives will, however, depend on a certain minimum number of students opting for the same elective.

Education Methodology

Faculty of Law believes in concentric learning approach that is specifically designed to facilitate ‘learning for wisdom and understanding'. It includes the Classroom Instruction, Independent Study, Soft Skills Development, IT Labs, Mentoring and Grooming, Assignments, Class Participation, Periodical Quiz, Tests and Assignments, Project Works, Comprehensive, Mid-Semester and End Semester Written Examination.

Moot Court: The Faculty of Law internalizes the moot court process into its curriculum. Moot Court activity, which is a part of clinical legal training, equips the students to gain practical experience, improve analytical reasoning, legal aptitude, and presentation and communication skills. The moot courts help the students in understanding bar and bench relationship. It helps to inculcate the good court-room techniques, processes and discipline among the students.

Legal Aid Programs: The Faculty of Law is committed to social cause and contributes to the society by way of spreading legal awareness, legal literacy and by providing legal services. It aims to coordinate with the District and State Legal Services Authorities in solving the disputes of the local people.

Internship Program

The students undertake the internship program for B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.B. program at the end of each year during the summer holidays. It is an attempt to bridge the gap between the professional world and academic institutions.
